I wanted to get fit and healthy, but lacked the motivation to stretch myself at the gym. I’d had personal trainers before but found they were a bit ‘generic,’ in that they had a set pattern of exercises and expectations of people my age ( I was in my late 60s at the time with a dodgy knee!) I’d seen reviews of Sara online, all positive, so I thought I’d see how she’d be able to both stretch me and cope with my knee, so I got in touch with her. From the moment I met her, she was positive and supportive of my needs. I had an initial meeting with her and was immediately impressed by her enthusiasm and expertise. As well as my current health and fitness levels, she took detailed notes about my previous experiences of working both with a PT and individually at the gym. She asked what I wanted to get out of personal training and what my long-term aims were. This was something I hadn’t been asked by previous PTs. My first impressions were good but as they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating!! The day of my first session arrived and I was a little nervous, but I needn’t have worried. Sara immediately put me at my ease, asked how my knee was (varies from day to day) and we began. I could see immediately (using immediately a lot but it’s appropriate) that she was well planned and had considered my previous experience (I’d been a gym goer for over 20 years), as well as my knee problem. It didn’t take her long to see my strengths, and weaknesses. Following sessions used this knowledge to best advantage, weight training not just concentrating on heavier weights but more importantly on form – protecting and improving the weak areas of my body. I’ve now been with Sara for several years, during which time I’ve had various injuries and limb problems. She never ceases to amaze me with the variety of exercises she comes up with and I can honestly say that I’ve never been bored in her sessions. She pushes me with encouragement and praise to be my best self, not the best of a now 71 year old, but the best of an individual. She plans my individual programme, adjusting to my personal needs and concentrating on things that will make me stronger, fitter and healthier. Throughout my time with Sara, I’ve found that she coaches with patience, humour and a huge amount of expertise. She researches the best ways to cope with my various ailments, a dedication to helping me the best that she can. During the time I’ve been with her, I’ve noticed a growth in her knowledge (she was fairly new to personal training when I first met her) and confidence. I feel very safe in her hands and the improvement in my overall fitness and health is obvious to both myself and my friends and family. I really look forward to my twice weekly sessions with her, always feeling better when I leave than when I arrive. I cannot recommend Sara enough, she’s a thoroughly competent coach and trainer

Sara is welcoming, friendly and professional. She listens to what I want to achieve, and plans varied and fun sessions. Sara is positive and supportive, and focuses on what my body can do, knowing when to push and when to adapt if necessary. She is highly skilled and knowledgeable. I can feel the progress I have made in terms of strength and endurance, and also in terms of a healthy rather than punishing mindset. I can’t recommend Sara highly enough.
